Taunton Half & Full Marathon 2006: www.tauntonmarathon.co.uk

The Taunton Carnival Committee were inspired by the London Marathon in the early eighties, so we thought why not try one here. The first Taunton Marathon and Half Marathon took place in April 1983, and is now a firmly established event in the local calendar.

As well as being recognised as a seriously competitive road race, this event raises money for charities. A lot of the runners raise sponsorship for their own ‘pet’ causes and any profit made on the event itself is presented to charity at the end of the year.

The annual illuminated Taunton Carnival takes place on the third Saturday in October.

Photographs

The Prints will all have a white boarder as shown, and include the race title. Most events will have two or three photos per competitor, including a 'run' photo and 'medal' photo.
